OPINION
L’Equipe has claimed that Newcastle United are readying a swoop to sign OGC Nice forward Allan Saint-Maximin this summer and understandably, many Magpies fans on Twitter are gushing over the thought of seeing him play in black and white stripes next season. Saint-Maximin, 22, was in good form for Nice last season as he scored six goals and supplied five assists in 34 Ligue 1 appearances. He can play on either wing, behind the centre-forward or as a striker himself, which would no doubt help Newcastle as their current attacking unit is depleted following exits of Salomon Rondon, Joselu and Ayoze Perez. According to WhoScored, Saint-Maximin completed more dribbles than any other player in Ligue 1 last season – more than Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. If Newcastle can sign someone who is so good with the ball at his feet then there’s no doubt that Steve Bruce will be improving his squad. Hopefully the newly-appointed Toon boss can strike a deal with Nice before the transfer window closes next month.

So Joelinton expected in today for 40m, talks of us signing Saint Maximin, club rennovations. This does not look like the works of Ashley. Hope this is true. #Nufc
