Newcastle United fans have had a lot to think about in the last few weeks as talks continue to drag on between Rafa Benitez and the Newcastle board. This seems to have caused some problems regarding potential transfers in the summer, however it seems that some Newcastle fans believe that the club already has attacking options in the form of one of their youth players, Elias Sörensen, who has impressed this season in the Premier League 2. The Dane has scored 12 goals in 17 appearances for the Magpies U23’s side, and many fans believe he is ready for a call up to the first team. The vast majority of Magpies fans seem to be saying the same thing about the 19-year old after he tweeted to mark the end of the season, with one fan in particular claiming: “This lad needs to get a chance in the prem, one for the future.” Although the Newcastle youth sides have all been pretty impressive this season, Sörensen has been one of the stand-out performers, and it seems to have been noticed by fans. After the 19-year old sent a message to the Newcastle faithful from his personal Twitter account, fans of the club reacted and there was an ongoing theme throughout the replies.
