Newcastle United are looking for a quick decision from Yoan Gouffran over his future.
According to a report in The Chronicle a decision is required today by the midfielder as Newcastle step up their transfer plans for the Premier League.
Gouffran was a regular in last season’s promotion winning campaign but refused to commit himself to a new deal.
Rafa Benitez wants to have the Frenchman in his side next season but is prepared to switch his attention to other targets if he isn’t willing to sign up to a new contract.
Gouffran has plenty of experience of playing in the Premier League after five seasons at St James’ Park.
At 31 years of age his next contract will be the most important of his career but if he’s not prepared to commit to Newcastle the current offer will be withdrawn as Benitez draws a line under the matter and moves on.
