Newcastle are interested in Celtic pair Kieran Tierney and Jozo Simunovic, according to the Daily Star.

The Magpies interest in Simunovic was reported in the Daily Mail earlier in the week but the link to Hoops left back Tierney is a new development. Whether a move for 19 year old is a realistic one is open to debate. The full back has established himself as a first team regular over the past two seasons but is reportedly being tracked by the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as other other Premier League sides.

Still, Newcastle scouts are said to be frequent visitors to Celtic Park where they have watched Brendan Rodgers’ side wrap up the Scottish Premiership title without so far losing a match.

Tierney was sidelined for two months with knee ligament damage between October and December, but has still managed to play 36 games in all competitions, scoring two goals and contributing a hugely impressive 12 assists.

Simunovic meanwhile was on the verge of leaving for Torino in a £3.75million deal last summer but after the move collapsed, the 22 year old has established himself as a first team regular under Rodgers at Parkhead.
