Jordan Henderson believes Liverpool are in for a “really, really tough” test against Newcastle United on Saturday.

What’s the latest Newcastle United news?

Despite a hugely disappointing season thus far, Jurgen Klopp’s side could close the gap on Newcastle in fourth to just six points if they win at St James’ Park, while they also boast a game in hand.

Clearly, that is by no means a forgone conclusion given the respective form of both teams throughout the campaign, though Liverpool remain the only team to beat Newcastle this season.

Indeed, Eddie Howe’s men are hardly in the best of form either. While it’s promising to see them move their points tally along even while performing at a level below what we’ve seen before through draws, few can doubt things have slowed down of late.

Under the lights at St James’ Park, one of the most evocative fixtures in the Premier League calendar is set for another exciting instalment.

What has Henderson said about Newcastle?

Speaking to Liverpool FC TV, the former Sunderland midfielder said: “The next game is a big test. Newcastle are flying this season. I think they are unbeaten in 11, something like that.

“So it’s really, really tough place to go and play but if we can perform like we did and more than you never know what can happen.”

What would be a good result against Liverpool?

While recent draws have proven frustrating for Newcastle, another against Liverpool would hardly be a disaster.

If you can’t win, at least don’t lose. Though that sounds rather obvious, there is naturally going to be a confidence heading into the game given Liverpool’s inconsistency. Still, this is a team boasting a huge amount of talent, as they showed at the reverse meeting, so Newcastle stopping them from claiming a morale-boosting victory is arguably as important as a win themselves.
