Eddie Howe has confirmed Bruno Guimaraes is “physically fine” and available for selection ahead of Newcastle United’s trip to Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.
The midfielder left Brazil’s camp early during the international break, sparking concern as to yet more potential injury worries, but looks set to play at Craven Cottage in at least some capacity.
Allan Saint-Maximin is “very close” to a return from his hamstring injury, with Howe also confirming there are a number of players whose situations are “slightly unclear”.
Callum Wilson is expected to return to the starting lineup, while a late decision will be made on Chris Wood.
While Alexander Isak is injured, Howe has revealed a scan on the Swedish forward’s muscle injury is slightly more positive than first expected.
Having only won once during their opening seven Premier League games, Newcastle need to start picking up positive results and starting to welcome key players back into the side is a major boost.
Newcastle United predicted XI (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Targett; Guimaraes, Willock, Joelinton; Almiron, Wilson, Fraser
