OPINION
Emil Krafth’s arrival at Newcastle United is going to mean that Steve Bruce will have a surplus of right-backs in his squad. As pictured by the Chronicle, the Amiens right-back has arrived in the North-East ahead of completing his move to join the Magpies. However Newcastle already have Javier Manquillo and DeAndre Yedlin to choose from at right-back – so what’s going to happen to them? These Magpies supporters have made their mind up and they want USA international Yedlin to be given the boot by Bruce. Manquillo has impressed during pre-season and according to stats by WhoScored, the Spanish full-back was dribbled past fewer times on average and also committed fewer fouls on average than Yedlin. Neither stand out that much against each other really but Manquillo is slightly better and his ability to play at left-back is also a plus point. It remains to be seen how much of an upgrade Krafth will be on either of them, but if he’s at least better than Yedlin then that’s an improvement, albeit a narrow one.

After Yedlins performances last year I’d be saying cheerio to him. I’d keep Manquillo over him all day long #NUFC

I'd flog Yedlin, he's horrendous defensively. He's got pace and nothing more! Manquillo on the other hand, when played in his correct position on the right has looked better and more solid in defence and he's not afraid to get forward when needed. He's ideal backup. #nufc

Manquillo has actually turned out to be a decent squad player. As much as I like Yedlin he's a liability and can't defend too well for a full back! Hopefully Krafth is first team quality and will be starting RB
