Former Geordie Shore star Greg Lake has taken to social media to give his verdict on Newcastle’s reported interest in Young Boys defender Loris Benito.

According to The Sun, the 27-year old landed in London on Monday, and could be on his way to partake in final talks with the Magpies ahead of a potential move to St. James’ Park this summer.

The former reality TV star gave his verdict on Newcastle’s reported interest in the player, in order to urge the club to sign Sergio Ramos instead, after information surfaced suggesting that the club may be on its way to being sold in the near future, as reported by The Sun.

“Now we got the royal family on board lets buy Ramos haha.” said Lake from his personal Twitter account.

OPINION

Although it seems highly unlikely that the club will be signing the likes of Ramos anytime soon, fans will will no doubt be sharing the same excitement shown on social media by the former Geordie Shore star. Should the takeover come to fruition and be successful, there will almost certainly be more funds available for the Magpies this summer, which will effectively mean they can sign bigger, better and more expensive players as the new Premier League season slowly approaches. The reported takeover deal supposedly involves a deal between Dubai-based billionaire Sheikh Khaled Bin Zaid Al Nehayan and current Magpies owner, Mike Ashley, and developments are reportedly ongoing between the two parties. Although it seems likely that the club will be able to afford more expensive players if the deal is finalised, Newcastle fans probably won’t be expecting the 4-time Champions League winner to be playing his football on Tyneside anytime soon.
