Newcastle are ready to sell Joselu in the summer according to Football Insider and this must open the door to sign Salomon Rondon permanently.

The reputable football outlet has claimed that Rafael Benitez has told the club to listen to all offers for the forward in the summer as he looks to rebuild his squad.

Spaniard Joselu, has failed to start a game since Boxing Day under Benitez due to the great form of Ayoze Perez and more importantly Rondon, not to mention his own struggles when he has been given a chance.

Rondon is currently on loan from West Brom and has been influential in the Magpies’ upturn in form having been involved in 17 goals in 31 appearances and taking control of the striker position with relative ease.

Joselu signed for Newcastle from Stoke in 2017 but has only scored seven goals under Benitez.

His reported departure must mean Newcastle must make the Venezuelan’s loan permanent and build the squad around him, Perez and Miguel Almiron.

The loanee’s strength and hold up play has been integral to Newcastle and players such as Perez has thrived around the striker who has automatically created many more chances for the players around him.

If West Brom also fail to gain promotion back to the Premier League through the play-offs then Dwight Gayle will also return to the club and could be used as a bargaining tool for the Magpies who should look to go down the more physical route which Rondon is perfect for.

Should Joselu leave in the summer, Rondon’s stay must be made permanent, especially with the Venezuelan expressing his desire to stay past this season.
