Newcastle United teen sensation Elias Sorensen has secured a loan move to League One side Blackpool for the remainder of the season, with the prolific 19-year-old finally getting the chance to showcase his talents on a bigger stage. As reported on the club’s official website, Sorensen joins the Tangerines until the summer after bagging 21 goals for club and country so far this season. Many Newcastle fans have been calling for the youngster to get a chance in the first-team at St. James’ Park, but club bosses obviously feel as though a loan switch to the lower leagues is the best move for his development at the moment. Such a move does seem sensible considering his young age and the fact he has never really played much first-team football at all. Throwing him into the first-team at Premier League level could end up a disastrous move if it doesn’t work out, although some fans obviously do not agree.
