Newcastle United winger Kenedy was once an exciting prospect for the fans, but that could not be any different now.

The on-loan star now looks a shadow of the player that he was at the beginning of the season and the entirety of last term, and there is no doubt that the supporters are starting to lose faith in him.

The Chronicle have reported that the player’s agent could be battling to persuade Newcastle to bring him in permanently after previously talking up a deal to take him to a Champions League club.

Well, based on his recent showings, no Champions League club would want him – or any other Premier League club for that matter.

It seems like his agent has been talking up his ability a bit too much, something which has backfired on Kenedy massively.

His quality seems to have vanished and that was only reinforced in the recent 1-0 win over Huddersfield recently, where he was essentially invisible – you would have only known he was on the pitch when he was substituted at the end of the second half.

This is why Rafa Benitez must not entertain any thoughts of making the 22-year-old’s deal on Tyneside a permanent one – as he is just asking for trouble.

Why on earth would he want a midfielder on the books who has proved more than once that he is a liability?

Benitez is too good a manager to embarrass himself like that, so he must without fail send the mainstay packing as soon as possible, as that is the only viable option.

The report also states that Benitez thinks that “there is much more to come from him” – is there really?

The Spaniard is a lot smarter than that, so he must be ruthless in his decision-making.
