A large number of Newcastle United fans have been crying out to see youngster Elias Sorensen unleashed into the first-team but it would better if he joined Hartlepool United on loan.

The 19-year-old forward has been in prolific form this season as he has scored 13 goals in 13 outings while featuring for the Magpies’ youth teams.

His displays haven’t gone unnoticed by supporters and on several occasions they have taken to social media to urge Rafa Benitez to use him, particularly after he scored a hat-trick against Aston Villa’s U-23s earlier in the campaign.

There’s also probably been other Magpies fans who have been impressed but realise that asking Sorensen to play in a Premier League side’s first-team is way too much to ask him of this stage.

However between the two groups of fans, they will both likely be miffed if the prolific gem opted to join Hartlepool United on a temporary basis and play his football in the fifth tier of English football.

Yet that’s exactly what they player should choose to do.

Hartlepool may be an unglamourous option to take due to the league they currently find themselves in, especially compared to a Premier League side, but Sorensen could flourish there.

The 19-year-old should be able to step up to the level required of him, would be able to get on with the task at hand without too many cameras and intense coverage unsettling him and would definitely get opportunities to play.

This would especially be the case as Hartlepool currently sit 12th in the league and have only managed 21 goals in 20 matches, which is definitely able to be improved.

According to the Hartlepool Mail the National League side are one of the teams tracking Sorensen so would likely be very keen to offer him a chance to play his football with them on a temporary basis and it’s one the player simply must seized.
