COMMENTARY
Daryl Janmaat is currently playing his football in the Premier League with Watford and should be focusing on them and only them. The right-back previously played for the Magpies between 2014 and 2016 and didn’t exactly establish himself as a fan favourite. There was absolutely no need for him to use a Watford Fan Forum to take a dig at his former employer and he really acted unprofessional by doing so. Given that he simply had to say he enjoyed the atmosphere at Vicarage Road and not bring St James Park into it, it says a lot about his attitude. Janmaat took a direct dig at Magpies fans so it was no surprise that lots of supporters retaliated by furiously destroying him on Twitter. While some fans opt to call him names, which is understandable as they felt insulted, one supporter humorously questioned how the right-back had finally managed to get out of Magpies attacker Salomon Rondon’s pocket. While Janmaat missed his side’s clash with the Magpies this season, it was still an amusing image.
