Striker Salomon Rondon has arrived in Newcastle to complete his loan move to the club, according to reliable journalist Lee Ryder.

The trusted journalist – who is known as the Chronicle’s chief writer on the Magpies – has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the 6″1 (source: Transfermarkt) talisman has arrived in the North East after travelling from the Midlands ahead of his proposed move to the Tyneside outfit.

The Venezuela international was relegated with the Baggies last season along with the likes of Stoke City and Swansea City, but looks set to make a return to the Premier League with United.

OPINION

Newcastle fans must be getting excited that Rondon has arrived in their city to complete his move to the club. They have not had much to smile about recently, but his potential imminent arrival is sure to give them something to smile about again. The club’s lack of signings until a few weeks ago undoubtedly left many supporters fearing that they would be relegated, but with Rondon due to arrive any day now, those fears would have been put to bed. Boss Rafa Benitez has defied all odds to bring in some promising players on an extremely low budget, and fans have a lot to thank him for, especially if he steers the team to a top ten finish once again. Rondon’s arrival is sure to be the icing on the cake for many, and hopefully he can put out some impressive performances to warrant being signed on a permanent basis next year.
