Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle’s exit could be triggered as he is set to hold face to face talks with West Bromwich Albion boss Darren Moore, according to reliable journalist Lee Ryder.

The reporter – who is known as the Chronicle’s chief writer on the Magpies – has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the United mainstay is due to have talks with the Baggies’ manager, a move which could trigger his loan exit from the club.

Newcastle are in the process of finalising a move , according to The Sun, for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon and the Magpies frontman looks set to move the other way.

OPINION

Now that the transfer window is coming to a close, the transfer developments on the Newcastle front look to be developing rather quickly. Rondon could be a Newcastle player in the coming days, and Gayle is edging ever closer to a move to West Brom. Although he was not initially keen on a move to the recently relegated outfit, a move there is the best thing he can do for his career right now. Yoshinori Muto has just arrived at St James’ Park, and when Rondon’s move finally goes through, he would have been pushed further down the pecking order. Sitting on the bench is undoubtedly not what he would have wanted, and regular football at the Hawthorns is just what he needs to bring his confidence back up again. Gayle has been a faithful servant to the Newcastle cause, but his time at the club looks to be coming to an end.
