Newcastle United must act fast in order to sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson this summer as the attacker has a host of clubs pursuing his services.

The Reds are likely to loan their talented 21-year-old out this summer with Times journalist Paul Joyce claiming via his Twitter on Tuesday that this was the case despite Wilson signing a new contract with the Merseyside giants.

With the reliable journalist stating that it was Championship sides pursuing Wilson then the Magpies should have no problems successfully hijacking the race for his services.

Wilson is more than ready to take the Premier League by storm if given the opportunity and Rafa Benitez’s side could do with an exciting attacking talent such as the Reds youngster arriving at the club.

The 21-year-old dazzled while on loan at Hull City last season as he scored seven goals in 14 appearances for the Tigers with the electric talent looking a step above his opposition.

Given Wilson’s ability to play on either flank as well as an attacking midfielder then it’s easy to see that Benitez will be able to make room for him in his side and hand him regular Premier League football.

The winger showed clinical form when at Hull last season and has racked up one goal for Wales already despite only featuring four times and given his eye for goal, the lethal finisher would provide the goals Benitez’s side currently lack.

The Reds will no doubt be keen for their promising prospect to get consistent exposure to top-flight football if possible and that would see the Magpies become their preferred destination for their player when it comes to deciding where to send him.

The only issue is that the Reds have already received dozens of requests to take Wilson on loan, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, which means they’ve probably already starting preliminary discussions about where to send him.

This means that for the Magpies to be able to easily hijack the reported race for the clinical winger they must act now in order to successfully acquire his services.

Benitez’s side are more than capable of acting quickly to get Wilson but they must not hesitant when it comes to pursuing him as the Reds have plenty of other teams willing to take him.

Therefore after scoring only 39 goals in 38 league games last season the Magpies must enter the reported race to sign Wilson on loan this summer as the clinical attacker is just the player they’re looking for.
