Following Rafa Benitez’s confession that Newcastle United have to wheel and deal this summer then the Magpies have to scout out potential bargains for them to sign.

The Spanish manager shared the Magpies’ current transfer budget ahead of players leaving caused the club to have to watch the pennies when pursuing potential new players.

“Unfortunately it’s what we have to do,” Benitez told Sky Sports on Tuesday.

“We have to wheel and deal, that is the way for us. And then we try to continue doing the right things.”

The Magpies should therefore look to sign Domingos Quina from West Ham as he has been hidden away at the club despite his blossoming reputation.

The Daily Mirror Live Transfer Blog (Wednesday 11th of July, 14:00) previously reported that the Magpies had expressed an interest in signing the 18-year-old central midfielder and he is clearly a player the club should look at as he could be available for a very reasonable price.

A Hammers insider ExWHUemployee  reported at the end on June that a summer switch was on the cards for Quina as the club had considered his sale as they felt he hadn’t made enough progress since joining.

Given that Quina’s contract is set to expire next summer then the current window is the Hammers last opportunity to get any form of fee from his departure.

This could see them sell the highly-rated teen for well below his market value and make him a potential bargain that could be snapped up the Magpies.

Quina possess fabulous dribbling skills and blistering pace that has only been seen in glimpses at the Hammers so far as he has only been allowed to feature six times for the club.

However the teen has continually featured for Portugal U-19s side, making 19 appearances in total, in order to appear to be one of his nation’s most promising prospects.

Benitez has a knack for helping players fulfil their potential and under his guidance Quina could be a Premier League success story who could help improve the Magpies’ attacking threat.

Therefore the Magpies must sign one of the Premier League’s current hidden gems as it seems a summer switch might be on the cards for him.
