Newcastle United have stern tasks ahead of them this summer and the Magpies could find themselves battling to keep manager Rafael Benitez at the club, as his performances have attracted interest from elsewhere.

With a number of high-profile jobs looking set to become available this summer, including at Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, an upheaval on the continent could prove to be costly if reports in Italy are to be believed.

According to Il Mattino, Napoli are keen on bringing Benitez back to Italian football as Arsenal line-up a swoop for current boss Maurizio Sarri, who has guided the Serie A side valiantly this season in a tense fight with Juventus for the Scudetto.

Sarri, also a reported target for Chelsea, has seen his services become highly-coveted and, if Napoli lose their manager, the Italian side will eye a move to bring Benitez back to the club he left in 2015 for Real Madrid.

However, Benitez will seek similar assurances from Napoli that he wants at Newcastle, leaving the ball in the Magpies’ court.
