Newcastle United must move for Bristol City’s Bobby Reid this summer as the prolific attacking midfielder would cure their problems in front of goal.

The 25-year-old attacker scored 21 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions for the Robins in his latest campaign, with 19 of those goals coming in the league, and he would be a force in the Premier League.

Rafa Benitez’s team only managed to score 39 goals in 38 league fixtures across the whole team in the recently ended season, which puts Reid’s mind-blowing goal return into perspective.

Reid even proved he was worthy of making the step-up to England’s top-flight in the 2017/18 campaign as he caused Premier League champions Manchester City a headache when he played twice against them.

Bristol City faced Man City in the League Cup semi-final, nearly knocking them out, and between the two legs Reid scored one and assisted one to cause Pep Guardiola to nearly see his side suffer a shock exit.

This was proof of his talents as it showed that Reid is ready to face the so-called big boys of English football.

While competition for the attacking midfielder’s signature will be intense, the Bristol Post claimed Bournemouth were keen on him in March, the Magpies can easily achieve getting his services if they enter the race for him.

The allure of working under Benitez and playing at St James Park, while also getting Premier League football which Reid desires according to the Bristol Post, should prove too much for him.

Also the local newspaper in their same report revealed that Reid is stalling on signing a new contract with the club, with his current deal expiring in 2019, so Bristol will no doubt be in a rush to get a fee for him this summer if he wants to leave.

Therefore the Magpies must swoop in and sign the attacking midfielder, who grabbed 21 goals in his latest campaign and caused Man City a headache, as he would be an achievable solution to the club’s goal scoring woes.
