Chancel Mbemba has been told he has no future at Newcastle United, according to a reliable journalist.
Chronicle football editor Mark Douglas reported on his personal Twitter account on Thursday morning that the defender, 23, will be put up for sale by the Premier League outfit.
The exact phrase is ‘at least’ €8m. Think #nufc would be angling for more there.
Mbemba has ‘no future’ at Newcastle they report, which tallies with my understanding.

It comes after Belgian newspaper HLN reported today that Newcastle have offered Mbemba and goalkeeper Matz Sels to Anderlecht in a £7million double deal.
OPINION
It appears that Mbemba’s time at Newcastle is up. Assuming, that is, the Premier League club can find a buyer for the player they signed from Anderlecht for £8million in the summer of 2015. The Congo international has been a useful squad man for Rafael Benitez over recent seasons, including in their promotion-winning campaign from the Championship. But he is behind senior trio Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Florian Lejeune in the centre-back pecking order and has not even been selected for a matchday squad for a Premier League clash since last December. With a salary that statistics site Spotrac claim is worth £35,000-a-week, Newcastle are understandably keen to get Mbemba off their wage bill and replace him with someone either cheaper or better. However, offloading him for a bargain fee wouldn’t be the greatest piece of business ever, given he is a pretty reliable performer and has extensive top-level experience.
