Newcastle United will now be able to look ahead to their summer transfer window after Sunday’s victory over Arsenal saw the Magpies surpass their pre-season target of 40 points, all but securing their Premier League status for another season.

Rafael Benitez’s side are one of three Premier League clubs linked with an interest in the services of Galatasaray winger Garry Rodrigues, although the Turkish side are concerned that his head has been turned by the reports.

Turkish outletĀ FanatikĀ state Galatasaray believe Rodrigues’ recent dip in form has resulted from the rising interest in his services from within the Premier League, with interest from Newcastle, Everton and West Ham being widely reported.

The Cape Verde international has now failed to score or assist in any of his last five appearances for the club, handing Galatasaray a blow in their quest to clinch Super Lig glory ahead of Besiktas, Istanbul Basaksehir and Fenerbache.

Just three points separate fourth from first in the division, leading to an exciting end to the season.
