Newcastle United have benefitted from a major revival in their battle to avoid relegation, pushing ten points clear of the drop-zone following a run of three consecutive wins, but they’ve also seen those away from the club impress.

Serbian striker Aleksander Mitrovic has revitalised Fulham’s survival hopes on-loan at Craven Cottage, netting nine goals in ten Championship starts since moving to west London in January.

Mitrovic struggled for opportunities at Newcastle in the first-half of the season, which was a major concern for the 23-year-old ahead of this summer’s World Cup, and he’s now hinted that he’s keen to make his move to Fulham permanent.

Quoted by The SunMitrovic said:

“If there is any chance, I would love to come back here. I would love to stay but we have to finish the season well first, to be where we want to be and then there’s the World Cup.”

“My agent will be working on all that. But, yes, I have a manager here who wants me — although maybe it all depends if Slavisa goes to Real Madrid… ”

Mitrovic certainly seems keen on working with compatriot Slaviša Jokanović once again, so his future could depend on whether the boss remains at Fulham.
