Newcastle United are eyeing plenty of recruits to bolster their ranks this summer and are one of many sides interested in the services of Besiktas ace Oguzhan Ozyakup.

The Turkish international is rapidly approaching the end of his contract and, despite Besiktas’ determination to keep him at the club, the former Arsenal man is likely to leave this summer- sparking a fight for his services.

Rafael Benitez’s side face a stern battle in the market alongside the likes of West Ham and Everton, with it previously being reported that the Magpies were reluctant to meet Ozyakup’s €2.5m-a-year wage demands at St. James’ Park.

However, Turkish outlet Fanatik report Newcastle have given the green light to a potential deal and have informed the agent of the 25-year-old they’re ready to agree to his demands- adding a further twist to what could be the transfer saga of the summer.

Capped 30 times by Turkey, Ozyakup has caught the eye this season with a return of three assists.
