Newcastle United continue to chase new signings in the January transfer window and Rafael Benitez has his sights set on a top-class new forward.

The Magpies have struggled to find the back of the net this season, scoring 22 goals in 23 matches, and Benitez wants to improve his forward lines this month, although he’s so far been unable to secure a new name in the market.

However, a new man has emerged on their shortlist and The Daily Mail reports that Newcastle have turned their attention towards Everton flop Sandro Ramirez, who the Toffees are looking to offload this month.

The Spaniard is ready to approve a deal that would see them pay the striker’s £100k-a-week wages in full and hand Everton a £2m loan fee to conclude a deal until the end of the season, although they face rival interest from elsewhere.

La Liga duo Real Betis and Sevilla are both interested in the striker but Sam Allardyce is reluctant to sell the striker until he’s sure that he won’t be a hit in the Premier League- and a move to Newcastle is a chance of redemption.
