Turkish sides Goztepe and Sivasspor are both plotting bids for struggling Newcastle midfielder Mohamed Diame, reports Sports Illustrated.
It is believed the two European sides are eyeing a seven-figure deal worth £2.5million for Diame, 30, as he enters the final 18 months of his contract.
The midfielder has been in and out of Rafa Benitez’s first-team plans this season with the Senegal international making 13 appearances across all competitions. He was especially criticised after a poor display against Everton last, with the Magpies losing 1-0 thanks to a goal from Wayne Rooney – their seventh defeat in eight top flight games.
Diame has been heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park after what has been a disappointing start to the new season.
Diame has a integral figure as Rafael Benitez’s side s they won the Championship title last season to earn promotion, however has since failed to replicate that form in England’s top division.
It seems the Toon army wouldn’t be too sad to see the back of him …
