Newcastle may reignite their interest in Manchester United’s Luke Shaw after it was revealed that the 22 year old’s relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has completely broken down.

The England international was linked with the Magpies back in March but the left back remained at Old Trafford when the summer transfer window closed. The Guardian have reported that the defender now believes he has no future at the club, and will look to leave.

Italian website Calciomercato.com say this will see Newcastle revive their attempts to sign Shaw. Magpies boss Rafa Benitez lacks cover in the left full back area, and with first choice Paul Dummett still sidelined with a hamstring injury, a number of players such as Javier Manquillo, Jesus Gomez and Chancel Mbemba have had to provide cover in the position.

Shaw could be seen as the ideal candidate to strengthen the left hand side, but it is likely Newcastle will face strong competition if the United full back is made available for transfer.
