Wolfsburg are lining up a £9m move for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun, according to Sporx (via Talksport).

The 26 year old is reportedly a target for Newcastle in the January transfer window, but it seems as though the Magpies will face stiff competition for the forward.

In addition to the Bundesliga club, Talksport report that Crystal Palace and AC Milan could also make a move for Tosun. The Turkish international has scored seven goals in all competitions for Besiktas this season, including three goals in the Champions League group stages.

The striker was actually born in Germany, and started out life in Eintracht Frankfurt’s youth academy. He also played for the German national side up until under 21 level before switching allegiances to Turkey back in 2012.

Tosun’s close links with the country could mean a move to Wolfsburg would be favoured by the player ahead of a switch to the Premier League, but it must be said Turkish champions Besiktas won’t give him up without a fight.
