Newcastle United have made a flying start to life back in the Premier League but there’s still a fair amount of work to do for Rafael Benitez side, who currently have plenty to think about with the ongoing takeover talks on Tyneside.
Benitez will be keen for any new owners to give him money to spend in the mid-season window, as he looks to strengthen his squad and ensure that the Magpies have the stability to remain competitive in the Premier League, and he may look to the country of his origin.
Summer signings Joselu and Mikel Merino, both Spanish, have impressed at times this season and have the potential to become key members of the first-team squad; particularly the latter, who’s quickly become a crucial member of the midfield.
