Newcastle remain interested in Saint-Etienne forward Jonathan Bamba according to But Football Club (via Le10 Sport).
The 21 year old was linked with a move to St James’ Park over the summer, and with the player’s contract expiring at the end of the season, it seems the Magpies are continuing to monitor the Frenchman’s situation.
La Liga side Sevilla and Ligue One club Lille are also believed to be interested in the the French under 21 international, but Le10 Sport are reporting that there is still a possibility of him re-signing with Saint-Etienne.
Bamba started the season in excellent form with four goals and one assist in his first eight league games, but he has missed the last two matches because of a breakdown in the relationship between the club and the player due to contract talks stalling.
Le10 Sport report however that discussions have restarted, and he will now be reinstated into manager Oscar Garcia’s first team plans.
