All the talk heading into the weekend was who Rafael Benitez would select up front, as Spanish ace Joselu had not scored in the three games since Aleksandar Mitrovic’s suspension. With the Serbian international returning, and Dwight Gayle also in the fray, it was a big decision.
In the end, Benitez stuck with his compatriot and the decision paid off as the £5m summer signing scored the equalising goal- albeit with a vast amount of fortune and the aid of a Liverpool defender’s boot. Still, you have to be in that position to score.
