Seven games into the Premier League season, Newcastle United have ten points to their name and therefore sit a quarter of the way towards their magic 40 point target that should secure their status in the top-flight for another season.
There’s certainly room to improve, namely upon the defeats to Huddersfield and Brighton, but their victories this season have shown they’re capable of holding their own in the Premier League and Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool is another feather in their cap.
Liverpool may feel hard done by but it’s largely their own doing, as they didn’t take their chances, and Newcastle can look at the point as a job well done. It’s certainly a result to shout about and the team performed well, although some should take more credit than others.
