The Chronicle has written an article today debating whether Newcastle should sign Jacob Murphy’s twin brother Josh from Norwich City.
Jacob signed for the Magpies from the Norfolk side in the summer for £12m, but manager Rafa Benitez has admitted in the past that the club have considered signing Josh, and that he would keep an eye on his development at Carrow Road.
Josh has had an excellent start to the Championship season with the Canaries, and scored the opening goal last night for Daniel Farke’s side during the extra time loss against Arsenal in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
In contrast to Jacob, who has started just twice for Newcastle since his move from Norwich, Josh has scored five times in 14 games. The reaction among Newcastle fans on Twitter to the suggestion of Josh’s arrival was pretty mixed to be honest, with some believing that the club should aim much higher when a takeover at the club happens:
Don’t think so but he would be a decent signing

Under this regime, probably not. If a takeover happens and it bears the fruit we've been told then the world is our oyster.
