Jack Colback
The 27-year-old former Sunderland man has not featured for the first-team this season and is unlikely to do so, despite putting in some decent performances behind the scenes with the U23 side. It’s pretty obvious he’s not wanted by Benitez, so keeping him on board would be pointless.
He was even absent from the squad photo, with Benitez stating afterwards that it was because Colback would be staying with the reserves indefinitely. Having rejected moves to Hull City and Wolves over the course of the summer, offloading him may be a challenge though.
