Jamaal Lascelles mother has said her son’s recent good form in front of goal has let her short changed after revealing she still gives the 23-year-old a fiver each time he finds the back of the net.
Lascelles has been the match winner for the Magpies in each of their past two fixtures, scoring the winning goals against both Swansea and Stoke City in what has been a brilliant run of form for Rafael Benitez’s side.
Newcastle currently sit fourth in the table thanks to their three consecutive victories, and while fans and Benitez will be pleased with Lascelles contribution in recent weeks, it seems is mum has other thoughts.

“Costing me a fortune” said Jill Lascelles on Twitter following her son’s goal against Stoke City on Saturday. “From his academy days at ntfc, it’s always been a fiver a goal.”
With 11 professional goals to his name since making his debut for Nottingham Forest in 2011, it seems the defender has cost his mum a fair bit of cash.
Despite her being out of pocket, she remains a proud mother, also tweeting: “Captains performance ….. again” following Lascelles display at the weekend.
