Newcastle United considering fresh move for striker

With Stoke City reportedly recently snubbing a bid from Newcastle United for striker Joselu, there’s been an interesting transfer tidbit from the Shields Gazette

They claim the Magpies are considering making an improved offer for the forward, with their last offer thought to have been seen as derisory one by the Potters.

Indeed, Stoke are understood to be open to selling the former Celta Vigo man, who spent last season on loan with Deportivo La Coruna, despite his relatively good form during their pre-season schedule.

Rafa Benitez has only Ayoze Perez, Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic to call on in central striking berths ahead of the Premier League campaign, with none of the trio proving overly prolific during their respective stints in the top tier.

Joselu may have endured a relatively difficult time of things since moving to England from Hannover two summers ago, though would give the Magpies a new dimension going forward.

More mobile than Mitrovic though more physical than both Perez and Gayle, the 27-year-old would be a new hybrid between the two styles of play.
