Real Betis have made an offer for Newcastle target Ryad Boudebouz.

According to a report on TalkSPORT the Montpellier striker is a £6.25m target for the La Liga side.

Newcastle have extensive scouting contacts across France and were linked with Boudebouz at the end of last season after he scored 11 goals in 33 matches.

Although he wasn’t on Rafa Benitez’s A-list of signing targets news of a bid from Spain could prompt a move from Newcastle who seem to have a transfer ceiling of £10m.

With less than a fortnight to go until the Premier League campaign kicks off Benitez is fighting a race against time to bring in a goalkeeper and a striker.

Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham was Newcastle’s first choice striking target but elected to go to Swansea instead.

While he tries to bring in new faces Benitez is struggling to move players on with half a dozen players on first team money deemed surplus to requirements.
