According to the Daily Record, Newcastle United could make a move for West Ham United playmaker Robert Snodgrass.

The Scotland international has struggled in east London since moving to the Irons from Hull City and has reportedly been told he’s no longer wanted at the London Stadium. Indeed, the Magpies were credited with an interest in the 29-year-old back in January and are said to be keen again.

It’s been a difficult summer for the Magpies thus far, though Rafa Benitez is understood to have been alerted, with the midfielder thought to be available for a potential loan.

Despite struggling to convince in claret and blue, Snodgrass would certainly improve the options available to Benitez on Tyneside. With creativity proving an issue, he’d go some way into helping take the pressure of off Jonjo Shelvey’s shoulders, as well as providing a palpable goal threat from set-pieces.

The likes of Brighton, Leeds United and Aston Villa are also said to be interested in the Scot, though a move to St. James’ Park could reportedly appeal to him.
