Tim set for Krul exit

Tim Krul took another step closer to leaving Newcastle after missing out on training today.

The 2014 World Cup keeper has slipped dramatically down the pecking order under Rafa Benitez and is left out of all discussions about the goalkeeping position at St James’ Park.

Benitez is on the look out for a new goalkeeper but it seems that it will be anyone but Krul.

Rob Elliot and Freddie Woodman are currently in favour with the Newcastle boss with Karl Darlow apparently on his way out following interest from Reading and Middlesbrough.

Last season Krul was sent out on loan initially to Ajax but after failing to get a look in at the first team he switched to AZ Alkmaar where he made a dozen appearances.

A move back to Holland seems to be the most likely chapter for the keeper who hit the heights but looks like slipping quietly out of Newcastle without a fanfare.
