Newcastle have been linked with a move for Willian Jose.
According to a report in the Northern Echo the Real Sociedad striker is in the plans of Rafa Benitez as he looks to bring in more goals for the Premier League.
Jose scored 12 times for Sociedad last season following his move from Las Palmas and had a brief stint with Real Madrid four years ago.
Benitez had hoped to bring in Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea but after the England u-21 striker opted to go to Swansea the Newcastle boss had had to switch his attention to other targets.
A striker, a goalkeeper and a pacey winger are the three signing priorities after Florian Lejeune was brought in from Eibar last week.
Benitez has extensive contacts across Spain and is looking just outwith the top clubs to bring in value signings ready to hit the ground running in the Premier League.
