Newcastle have opened talks to sign Sheyi Ojo on loan.
According to a report in The Chronicle Rafa Benitez is hoping to convince Liverpool to allow the winger to move on loan to St James’ Park.
Ojo has had mixed fortunes on previous loan deals at Wigan and Wolves and is believed to be on the fringes of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the new season.
The German is hoping to include the 20-year-old in his squad for the new season but could be open to a move to Newcastle and a greater prospect of first team football.
Benitez has been frustrated so far in his efforts to sign new players and is now looking at loan deals to freshen up his squad.
Liverpool rejected the option to send Ojo on loan to Newcastle in January but Benitez is hoping that he can convince Klopp to allow the winger to sample the Premier League at St James’ Park.
