Rafa Benitez is being kept in the loop about Pepe Reina’s Napoli future.
According to a report in the Northern Echo the Newcastle boss is fully aware of the negotiations going on between the keeper and the Italian giants.
With 12 months to go on his current deal it is close to decision time with Napoli looking for the Spaniard to commit his future to the club or to cash in and sell the keeper.
Benitez is looking to bring in a tried and tested keeper to anchor his side’s return to the Premier League with his former Liverpool stopper fitting the bill perfectly.
According to the Northern Echo report Napoli have offered a two year contract with a £5m get out while the player is looking for a three year contract with a £1.6m clause.
Unless either side changes their demands it looks like a bid for the keeper could be coming in from Newcastle.
