Newcastle fans have taken the likely ‘loss’ of Tammy Abraham with the shrug of the shoulders.
Celtic appeared late on the scene but despite appearing to be front runners for the England u-21 striker it seems certain that Abraham will be playing for Swansea next season.
Abraham was one of the outstanding talents in last season’s Championship with his 26 goals largely responsible for Bristol City staying clear of relegation.
A couple of years ago that sort of form would have guaranteed a recall to the Chelsea first team.
Times change however with even £33m signing Michy Batshuayi unable to get regular game time with Antonio Conte preferring to see how Abraham fares elsewhere in the Premier League.

I’d have picked Newcastle if I was Tammy Abraham. Far bigger club and will do well this season

Rafa Benitez had hoped that his Chelsea connections could push through a deal but the striker seems set to join Swansea instead.
The Newcastle boss has a number of strikers in mind and knows that he must find someone to score 15 Premier League goals if his side are to finish in the top ten as planned.
