Newcastle, along with five other clubs, are interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Aaron Mooy, according to SBS Television.

The Australian Public broadcaster reports that the Magpies, Crystal Palace and one other Premier League side have submitted offers to City for the Socceroo, while Aston Villa, Derby County and Wolves have also said to have made bids.

The 26 year old is currently on loan at Huddersfield Town but SBS say the Terriers have yet to contact Mooy’s agent Paddy Dominguez who told them:

“I’ve had no contact from anybody at Huddersfield regarding Aaron Mooy for next season. That doesn’t mean they won’t contact me … it just means they haven’t to date.”

Mooy has had an excellent season in the Championship having made 46 appearances, scoring four goals and providing seven assists. Due to interest being shown in the player, Manchester City are likely to only accept bids for the midfielder north of £10million.

Mooy joined City from Melbourne City in the summer but was sent out on loan immediately to Huddersfield. He has at least one more match to play for the Terriers when David Wagner’s side face Sheffield Wednesday in the second leg of the Championship playoff final tonight.
