Celtic full back Kieran Tierney says he is flattered by the interest being shown in him, but he is happy to stay at the Scottish Champions for the foreseeable future.

The 19 year old was linked to Newcastle, among other clubs, earlier this week by the Daily Star, and talking to Sky Sports (via the same newspaper), the Scottish international said the fact that he is content to remain at Celtic Park means the speculation won’t affect him one iota:

“It’s flattering. I don’t bother about it too much.I’m really happy at Celtic. My pals text me but I think it would play more in your head if you weren’t happy at a club. I’m really happy at Celtic, which is good.”

Tierney’s performances north of the border have reportedly sparked the interest of Premier League sides Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, as well as the Magpies. He was named Scotland’s Young Player of the Year by the SFA on Sunday and is reportedly rated at £20million by his club.

His statistics show why there is so much interest in the player. He has played 37 games this season, scoring two goals and providing a hugely impressive 12 assists in all competitions.
