At long last, Mitro really is on fire.
Since joining from Anderlecht last summer, it seems literally everyone on Tyneside has been waiting for the Serbian’s form to catch alight, even when the club as a whole was doused down to perhaps its lowest embers.
That’s not to say the 22-year-old hasn’t shown, in glimpses, just what he can do, though it’s fair to say such showings have been relatively intermittent.
So, his four-goal haul in the last two games against Preston (at both their most hapless, as well as hazardous) have sent the St. James’ Park into a rapturously loving applause.

Coupled with form of teammate Dwight Gayle, many sections of support appear to be calling for him to be paired with the ex-Crystal Palace man in what could be a devastating attack.
