Newcastle are hoping to complete the loan signing of Everton left back Brendan Galloway before the league match against Huddersfield Town at St James’ Park on Saturday, according to the Evening Chronicle.

The 20 year old will cost a reported £1million for a season long loan, the local paper believes, and the deal could be wrapped up so Galloway takes Paul Dummett’s place in the side for the game against the Terriers.

Galloway played 19 times in Everton’s first team last season under Roberto Martinez replacing the injured Leighton Baines, but new manager Ronald Koeman looks to have given his blessing to allow Galloway to leave on loan this season.

The left back joined the Toffees just two years ago from MK Dons but his performances in the Premier League suggest he has a promising future in the game. With Galloway set to compete with both Dummett and Massadio Haidara for a place in the side, there will certainly be a great deal more competition at full back this season.
