Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote is casting his net wider to search for potential suitors, according to the Evening Chronicle. The Ivory Coast international is expected to leave Tyneside this summer but his move to Abu Dhabi side Al Jazira club has stalled since the side had a bid rejected by the Magpies two weeks ago.

The 30 year old is current looking “around for options” according to the Chronicle but manager Rafa Benitez wants the player’s future resolved sooner rather than later as he looks to work with a settled squad so he can focus on improving match performances.

The Magpies boss is expected to sign another three players before transfer deadline day with Everton left back Brendan Galloway the next player expected to seal a loan transfer. Newcastle also expect up to six other departures with Emmanuel Riviere, Siem De Jong, Yoan Gouffran, Moussa Sissoko, Sammy Ameobi and Kevin Mbabu all expected to leave either on loan or permanently.
