A song that could be ringing round St James’ Park sooner rather than later

What could only be described as a dream at the start of the season for Newcastle United could just be five Premier League matches away from becoming a reality.

Champions League football could be back at St James’ Park next season if Alan Pardew’s men can continue their current winning form in the Premier League.

We’ve all studied the table by now. Newcastle are level on points with Tottenham Hotspur who are in fourth position and two points ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea.

With Spurs and Chelsea in particular having other priorities between now and the end of the season, Newcastle might just be able to sneak in and nick fourth place.

That would be nothing short of a minor miracle for the Magpies and would be a great reward for the efforts put in by the players this season.

One of Newcastle’s best performers in this campaign has been Frenchman Yohan Cabaye and the 26-year-old midfielder is dreaming of Champions league football.

Cabaye told the Evening Chronicle: “Hearing that music, it’s a very good feeling – I couldn’t imagine just how good it would be to hear the Champions League music at this stadium with our fans.”

Yohan has played in the Champions League for Lille and it would be fantastic if we heard this music at St James’ Park next season…

AP’s approach has been spot on, only looking at the next game ahead. If liverpool win on saturday and we get europa at least then that in itself is beyond anything we dreamed of at the start of the season. Mike Ashley is now approaching the 5th yr of his 5 yr plan, its been a bumpy ride but its coming to fruition. House in order on and off the pitch, the naming issue doesnt bother me in the slightest, it will always be sjp regardless of a sign saying something else. We need to be UNITED as one on and off the pitch for the last 5 games and see where the journey takes us, maybe a return to mackemless milan, have you ever seen one……
