Image for PICTURE: Arsenal goalkeeper Szczesny shows his allegiance to Krul

The fall-out from Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium last night rumbled on today, as the clash between the two Dutchmen, Arsenal striker Robin van Persie and Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul, was picked over.

Unsurprisingly Arsenal fans are backing their striker, saying that Krul was time wasting throughout the match, while Newcastle supporters feel that van Persie didn’t behave well at all, subscribing to the view that there can be such a thing as a bad winner.

I don’t believe there was any bad blood between Robin and Tim before the match and all I can think is that The Netherlands national football team wanted to get their usual tournament argument over before Euro 2012 even begins!

Obviously we don’t know what was said between the two, but as a 28-year-old captain of Arsenal who has represented his national team 62 times, you’d have thought that van Persie would know better, but then the emotion of football gets to everyone during the 90 minutes.

There’s been plenty of chat about the subject on Twitter, all of which isn’t really getting anyone anywhere, other than a few people ranting and letting off a bit of steam. However, I did come across this little gem…

@HassanMBD has been on Twitter (and Photoshop one suspects) and come up with this picture of Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny showing his allegiance to Tim Krul through a picture of the Dutch ‘keeper on his bedroom wall.

Nice to see the goalkeepers’ union is one that cannot be broken. I for one am looking forward to Robin van Persie’s trip to St James’ Park next season, whether that be for Arsenal or with the Dutchman wearing a Manchester City shirt.

  • Titi says:

Anyone else notice szczesnys hole in his sock???? :)))))

I Can’t wait for RVP to enter St James’s Park next season also, he is going to get some hostile reception, Geordie’s will back their own players to the hilt, and RVP will know about it when the day arives, As good he is a player, he showed himself up to be extremely childlike, What a sad way for club captain to go on, very sad!

    • Mr Finch says:

RVP childlike? You should feel embarrassed that your goalkeeper started time wasting after 30 mins of the game. RVP clearly felt embarrassed for him and told him “don’t do that”.

    • Becks says:

Were gonna get you back when you come here next season…..Then you call Van Persie a child..Pathetic moron.

  • Al says:

The picture of Tim Krull on the wall looks fake. It is an obvious photoshop job.

  • MJB says:

Definate photoshop job, Kruls picture is TOO recent and is over-bright compared to the shade of the room.

    Newastle = BAD LOSERS

  • Ash-out says:

Did I just imagine I saw Van Persie throwing v’s up to the opposing team or fans on TV?
Yeah – absolute class. Prize pillock.

  • banders says:

    Bad post

    Saddest use of Photoshop yet

  • walkpass says:

Then again Krul was really time wasting. I thought the Magpies were playing quite well and then he started the antics. The problem should be Webb who did nothing to it.

  • Game says:

Robin Van Persie told his international teammate to not time waste so early. I mean it shows what a small minded team Newcastle are!
After the winning goal was scored, RVP very playfully suggested to Krul to time waste now. Krul lost his temper naturally.

    What a loser!

Oh and RVP isnt like Nasri. He loves Arsenal. He never was and will never be driven by money.

Its funny how you people think uall deserved a point when you had only 4 shots the whole game womcpare to our 20+

  • Superstar says:

Lol…seriously, this post is a joke! What a waste of time and space… I mean seriously dude..?

  • lmfaololrotfl says:

krul is a bad loser. bad losers are funny. hardy. har. har.

  • St. James says:

Krul threatened to kick the ball in RVP’s head if he stood close to him when taking kicks. Van Persie told him to ‘do it, go on’ then Krul lost his rag.

Lets be honest, Krul reacted badly imo. Needs to man up, can you imagine Given reacting so childishly? RVP was actually laughing at him, couldn’t believe he was so easy to wind up.

Arsenal have a proper captain now in van Persie, up for confrontation. I remember how Joey Barton got under their skin last year, we hailed him of course. Nothing wrong with a bit of squaring up. They are men, not school girls.

Lets all stop being sensitive and move on. We can finish in Europe.

    • edissimo says:

Hooray! A balanced point of view. Of course Barton and VP are hailed, fans always love players with a bit of bite and commitment.

This is a nothing story the likes of Keane, Vieira and Batty must laugh at.

  • Steve says:

St.James. Well done for dispelling the myth of myopic morons following Northern teams. It was a bit of passion from both player. Don’t we all complain that we don’t see enough of it these days?

Nice to see that at least one Newcastle supporter has a sense of perspective about the affair.

  • Tony Toon says:

St James – you have obviously conned someone into believing you are a Toon fan. Don’t think many will really buy it though.

  • Adam says:

Everyone can see that its a fake. ITs just a joke but it just shows how short sighted you lot really are. RVP and (whats that little short arse called again?)er wilshire have the attitudes of World of Warcraft players. You lot really need to wind your necks in and stop behaving like the ones that lost.

  • Steve says:

No-one seems to get the irony in a club that has employed the likes of Joey Barton, David Batty, Craig Bellamy, Kevin Nolan, critisising the behaviour of RVP.

    Astonishing.

  • BozzaBee says:

Tim Krul and his consistent time wasting from the 20th minute is where the blame should lay, as a supporter of football I don’t pay the already inflated prices to watch this in a game!!

So Krul should pipe down and put those toys back in his pram!! Maybe listen to the man and very likeable pundit that is known as Gary Neville….it was just a little to-do with one another it happens in football…. get over it!! 😛 Arsenal won and deserved it!!
