The big team news ahead of Arsenal v Newcastle United at The Emirates Stadium in the Premier League tonight is that Hatem Ben Arfa has been given a starting berth by Alan Pardew after his impressive display at St James’ Park against Sunderland last week in the Tyne-Wear derby.

The men dropped from the team versus Sunderland are Ryan Taylor and Papiss Cisse as Newcastle will adopt a 5-4-1 formation, with Ben Arfa playing in behind Demba Ba.

The Newcastle United starting line-up vs Arsenal is as follows:

[ad_pod id=’unruly-video’ align=’right’]

Tim Krul; Danny Simpson, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini, Davide Santon; Gabriel Obertan, Yohan Cabaye, Cheik Tiote, Jonas Gutierrez, Hatem Ben Arfa; Demba Ba

Cisse has to make do with a place on the bench, as does derby hero and self-described Newcastle legend by Alan Pardew, Shola Ameobi.

Arsenal’s starting eleven is…

Szczesny; Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs; Song, Arteta; Walcott, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Van Persie.

The main man Newcastle obviously need to look out for is Robin van Persie, but Theo Walcott has fared well against the Magpies in the past and Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain has been in devastating form of late, so Danny Simpson and Davide Santon will need to be at the top of their game.
